After the resounding success of the E Tu Whakatu 2015, the community Poetry and Art Classes had mothers and father, anucles and aunts, bothers and sisters joining together and enjoying the creative process that was experienced by the group.
We asked for feedback from the group when we had finished the weekend, so we could see where we could improve and what was working well. Here are some of the comments from that group.
We want to continue with this success and build on what has been talked about throughout the year to bring a new set of possibilities to the community at large through an introduction to the arts community through a real gallery opening with some of their own works included, their first Group exhibition.
This year (2016) we would like to hold another round of classes with Poetry and Oil painting over a three day weekend with the finished artworks being presented not just once at the events final day presentation, but also a little later in the year in conjunction with the traveling exhibition of artists called Interconnection opening the group up to a whole new possibility of expression and allow them to channel the ideas in a positive manner toward a possible creative career in the future.
