Masquerade - Elements of Disguise
Collaborative work with Anthea Stayt
A combination of three artists combining our talents and working together to create a wonderful layered effect that has lead to further developments in our techniques.
Exhibition of 6 artists located around different locations around the New Lynn shopping center.
The item is still available however i want to extend the work more and make a box for it to stand in with a perspex front and other details. This will be able to happen with the appropriate funding being available .
6 X 6 X 6 - Franklin: The Centre - Vjekoslav Nemesh & Sean Hurst -
An exhibition of dolls from a variety of artists and a historic collections from private collectors.
Originating from England, Sean grew up at Whangaparaoa; he first trained as a chef and then moved into the arts in 1999 studying at Manuaku Institute of Technology, gaining a Bachelor of visual arts from Auckland University in 2002. He designed the set for the 2001 Hero Gala Opening at the Civic Theatre, and has been a performer and creating Hero floats since 1994.
He also created the scale model of the Grafton Gully Project artworks, and installations for education of the Gully’s history for the Grafton Gullies redevelopment project in 2003.
He has been working in Costume Props for television for the last three years and exhibiting his work in galleries across the country since 2001.
Sean has won several awards including the Leabank Drawing Award in1999 and two awards in 2003 of the Trash to Fashion Awards, the first prizes for two sections in 2003 and a finalist in 2006 for the men’s wear section.
